Emerging: Mr Fogg

Mar 19, 2009

If you yearn for the aching beauty of the glitchy, cerebral instrumentation from Mum and Sigur Ros with the intricate subtlety that only someone well-versed in "pop" can dish out, Mr Fogg is the best penny to be found on the street.  The UK-based laptop composer creates breathy, soft, wrenching songs that are genius-level in their layering and delivery.

Fogg just put the finishing lacquer on a debut record with producer Valgeir Sigurdsson (Bjork, Mum) after a number of recording sessions throughout the last year in Iceland and he's already played a ton throughout the UK–though his live set-up is not just the man and his computer but rather a full live band, a string quartet and a chamber choir–including an appearance at Reading and some love from national radio there.  We think a ton of great things about Mr Fogg and can't wait to watch as he paints himself into the mural of smile-seducing electronic music the world over.
