We met the nastiest trio in New York City, electro punk riot grrrls (and dude) Tayisha Busay at BEMF last month where they played an indoor set to kick off the day, filled with trashy moves and sinister caws, orgasmic yelps and fucking ridiculously catchy, new millennial fire. It's a little bit electroclash, a lot of the "girls up front" attitude of the Pacific Northwest from the early-to-mid-nineties and the choreography of Paula Abdul's VMA mash-up from 1989. We're kind of in love with the grit and dangerous vibes of the Gotham three-piece, so when they sent us an email telling of a new monthly party they're putting together at Glasslands Gallery that kicks off with an inaugural jam on October 14 as well as some other shows beforehand, we got giddy and all riled up. To boot, we got this new remix by Nite Club of their jam "French Song", which is a great packaging of what to expect aurally from the Tayisha gang.
