News: Apache Beat almost ready to drop their debut record

While preparing to drop their first full length record, Brooklyn/Australia pop post-punk outfit Apache Beat have had to settle for a whole lot of singles in the last year or so. But the gang is finally ready to set hearts on fire with Last Chants, announced in advance of its early 2010 release and preceded only by one more single, the first from the new record (though you've heard it before) "Your Powers Are Magic", with lead vocalist/yelper IIlirjana growling and howling her way through spirals of guitars, drums and bass wallops. The single, dropping September 29 is heavy, whirling and amazing. The disc features contributions from dudes in The Rapture, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Chairlift and Dev Hynes aka Lightspeed Champion.
