Download: Kid Sister – “Life On TV (Redlight remix)”

NYC-based disco house DJ/producer Redlight takes on the album cut "Life On TV" from Kid Sister's finally released debut record, Ultraviolet, adding a spurting, cutting treatment of blips and rips and a ton of effects you'd think were more akin straightaway with, say, MSTRKRFT, which ditches some of the jukiness in honor of a more well-electro-rounded approach. The track doubles in size and measures, with Sis's electro raps still very much alive and well in the track though much of it gets swallowed in the mix a bit from too much overdoing of the effects and not enough breathing room, but can you blame Redlight for it? Probably not. The album version bubbles to the surface of pop tunes that border on cheese-ball mid-80s bubblegum, but we love love love that notion.
