News: Steve Aoki and Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo are Rifoki

We used to be in love with the ideals of a label like Dim Mak way back in the day, as head Steve Aoki seemed to have been a totally thrashy-minded kid that would release a 7" by some friends if it was heavy and vicious enough to be marketable to any audience (no matter the size). And while the brand has certainly outgrown just the one scene, the approach seems to remain, where Aoki is set out each time to release efforts that speak to him, whether they be electro destroyers from the likes of The Bloody Beetroots or MSTRKRFT or as grinding and ferocious as the might of All Leather. Take, for instance, the new project that Aoki himself has been working on with Beetroot Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo, a heavy-as-shit yelping pairing they call, fittingly, Rifoki, and their lead track "Sperm Donor". Framed with a head of steam that doesn't let up, "Sperm Donor" is the sort of track you put on after an argument–or before it, really–or when you're feeling in a way best described by the shattering of glass or the fragmenting of bone. The pair make their live debut this April at the Palladium.
