World Premiere: Telephoned – “Don’t Go/No No No (DJ edit)”

Jan 21, 2010

If you have been sleeping on these Telephoned kids (the duo of Fool's Gold DJ/producer Sammy Bananas and vocalist Maggie Horn), it needs to stop now. Like, right now. The guys just dropped their debut EP on Tuesday, but prior to that the two had released this rad mixtape of not-really-covers-but-kind-of, called "Off The Hook". Sammy and Maggie, it turns out, have gotten so much response to the mixtape and requests for full versions of each of the eighteen songs within that they've gone back into the lab–already–and started getting to work on making proper DJ-ready edits of them all. The first, for "Don't Go/No No No" (which is a tear-up of Kyle Watson's "Bounce Up" and Rihanna's "You Don't Love Me (No No No)"), is now ready and willing for your crates–digital ones at least. [Ed. note: we just got an email from Sammy Bananas and he tells us it's actually a dual cover of Awesome 3's "Don't Go" and Dawn Penn's "No No No", so despite our best efforts and due diligence in research, we were wrong. It happens.] We're pleased as hell to be the ones to bring it to your plates for consumption, so do the right thing and dig the fuck in. Telephoned, tell the world.
