News: Maya Jane Coles is doing a “DJ-Kicks” compilation for April
The next in the series for 2012 (after Photek leads off), UK shining star-to-be Maya Jane Coles will be releasing the April edition of “DJ-Kicks” with her own brand of building and breaking electronic dance music. Color us excited.

News: Photek tapped to do the first “DJ-Kicks” compilation for 2012
Not since around 2000ish and thereafter (and the release of “Solaris”) have we been this excited about the prospect of new work from the legendary drum ‘n’ bass, ambient and acid artist Photek. But to kick off the 2012 series of “DJ-Kicks” compilations—out April 3 on !K7 Records—Photek comes back with exclusive tracks of his own along with track selections from the likes of Hot Toddy, Sepalcure, DJG, and more.

Download: The Juan Maclean - “Everybody Get Close”
November 7 sees the release of Everybody Get Close on DFA Records from the one and only John “Juan” Maclean, working obviously with compatriot Nancy Whang on the digital-only compilation album, which just so happen to feature outtakes and re-mastered tracks as well as remixes from the likes of Holmes Price, Jee Day and Cut Copy. As Juan and Nancy work on a new, third studio LP, the end of 2011 will see the compilation released after a lull of sorts from the proper gang, and the title track is evidence enough for us to want way more.

It’s been about a month now since the one and only god of drum ‘n’ bass Goldie dropped his Fabriclive mixtape (it came out on July 18), and if you haven’t already devoured it, seriously get on that, because it’s massive. Adam F., Commix, Lenzman, Basher, Rido and more are all prominently featured in the set from the Metalheadz honcho, and it’s only ten bucks. Quit waiting around.
