Photos: Electric Zoo Festival 2011 day three on September 4

And so it was that the final day of the three-day Electric Zoo Festival for 2011 came and passed on Sunday, complete with huge sounds throughout Randall’s Island, over 25,000 revelers and a few dozen acts over the course of the day, some fried chicken, a plethora of laughs and good times, and this final set of photos of some of the best kids on the grounds. Look out for a lot of UFO pants, Dayglo everything and some young kids going through a weird Bildungsroman. Extra special thanks for an amazing weekend go to our friends and family over at Plexi PR and Made Event, and especially to our festival compatriots that we spent most of our time with, Electrodrone and Stephie.

Day two of this year’s Electric Zoo Festival came and went very quickly for us around here, as we came to Randall’s Island right at the open of the day and left only two hours later because we were only really there to shoot and support friend of the program Alex English who opened the main stage of the event, but we were booked elsewhere later in the day, so we couldn’t stay longer than just a bit. We definitely had fun for the time we were there, though.

Much more and longer coverage of day three (today) to come, because we spent all day there.

Photos: Electric Zoo Festival 2011 day one on September 2

The first of three immense days in this year’s Electric Zoo Festival from Made Event, featuring dozens of the biggest, brightest and best in electronic dance music today, yesterday and forever is over for us, cut short because we’re on duty for a bunch of other stuff this weekend, but let’s not get into that.

Back at Randall’s Island with lest dust, more water, bigger sounds, larger stage setups, etc. etc. Whereas last year it felt that the priority was given to the name of the performer/d.j., this year—judging from day one—it seems like it’s definitely all about the music and making people lose their shit and dance. We ran around for a few hours, met up with some of our friends and acquaintances and took to making photographs just of people walking around and hanging and being in all sorts of weird/awesome get-ups, make-up, and accessories.

Two more days are still left and here’s your primer for the next 48 hours in New York City’s most promising brand of dance music festivals.
