Photos: Epic New Year’s Eve 2012 at Webster Hall
Ok, so this year as opposed to the last few December 31sts we decided to forego the idea of running around all over Gotham City at various parties to catch ball-drops and shenanigans and we stayed home until midnight with #thelovelyfiancee. From there we headed out late-night for the 3:30am d.j. set from Joe Ray of Nero, the UK’s biggest dubstep ticket right now—with the US release finally happening late in 2011 of “Welcome Reality”—and we caught up with a ton of people we see on the regular and even more we do not at Webster Hall. Fun times, lots of things to Twitter and Tumble and Instagram the whole night through, and the best kind of stay-out-til-after-5am times we’ve had in a long time. It was incredibly hot and sweaty and the walls were dripping wet. (Yes, gross, but oh so fun.)

The first-ever live set from the UK production team of Nero (along with their vocalist on sessions, Alana), last night at Webster Hall was super intense and pretty amazing, in line with the bookings that GBH has been pulling recently. Delays were there during the night as technical difficulties with Nero’s setup abounded, however the payoff was there in spades. A sold out crowd knows why. Residents of Girls & Boys, Alex English and RekLES kept the crowd involved before and after.
