Art: A.POP brings art and music together this Friday at Public Assembly loft

According to the promoters from the newly-minted and hopefully-monthly party called A.POP,  “the events aim to merge the dance nightlife culture with a sophistication and appreciation for art and especially up-and-coming artists and musicians”.

Each party carries a title, the first of which is “Inflate Me”, which the artists have free interpretation over. D.J.’s include the kids in photocopied flyer-bombers RINSED, Blacky II and Dan Wender, the boys of Kaviar Disco crew, Beto Cravioto and Travis Higgins. It’s at Public Assembly (loft) this Friday, September 30, from 10pm to 4am and it costs $3 (expensive!). Open vodka bar 10-11pm.

Photos: Noir at Public Assembly on August 11

Back again after a too-long break, Subdrive’s Noir party took place on Thursday at Brooklyn’s Public Assembly venue, with D.J. sets from roster guys Jockomo, Curl Up, Mr Vega and Terror Dactel, as the back room of the venue got super bassy super early and stayed that way, moving from minimal to dubstep to moombahton to half-step seamlessly for a few hours, with girls and guys (mostly girls) smiling and dancing the whole way through.
